Chocolate Chip Cookies
TKB 9: Second Times The Charm
Last week we made brown butter so now we got to use it for something right, so what else is better than some Brown Butter Chocolate Chip Cookies am I right! Also this was a way for me to get better at baking cookies because I am terrible at them. So you might as well play Outstanding by The Gap Band when I bake cookies, hopefully someone will get that reference. Anyways it was time for me to tackle one of the dishes that constantly stumps me, baking cookies. The hardest part for me is getting the right consistency. No matter what recipe I use the cookies are either one of two things, crispy and hard or soft and undercooked, and there is no in between. This time I used a recipe from Kroll’s Korners that was very easy to follow, which was easier said then done because spoiler alert I messed it up the first try. Like I said I always gets tripped up with the consistency. With the first bake I left them in a little too long because I wasn’t confident that they were cooked all the way after the original baking time and they were hard, so the next day we tried again. This time my fiancée gave me some key advice and she said once they start to brown on the edge slightly take them out, then I realized they will continue to bake after you take them out the oven. That little change was worthwhile because that was the difference between a frisbee or delicious, delightful, and decadent Chocolate Chip Cookies.
